Question by Jamie J: Does anyone know of any at home jobs that are legit?
I am 20 years old and 2 months pregnant. I am currently working for temp agencies but I need something more permanent. Also, I’d like to be able to stay home and raise my baby. I don’t have much money to invest and most of the at home jobs I’ve seen are scams. What options do I have?

I’m self-employed as a medical transcriptionist, and it’s the perfect job for a stay-at-home mom. I’ve been able to work before I had children, and all throughout having two kids. The overhead cost is very low (computer, transcription machine). You’ll need to advertise yourself by mailing out cover letters to various medical practices.
You can also do transcription for other things like insurance agencies and court reporters. In this case you’d be transcribing recorded conversations between maybe two car accident victims, witnesses, etc.
Medical billing is another high-demand at-home job. I don’t know much about this, but there are classes you can take for this.
If you like baking you could sell your baked goods. I have a friend who makes muffins weekly and sells the batch to a local grocer, who in turn, sells them to customers. She has an ongoing contract to do this for this grocery store.
I hope this helps. And, congratulations on your baby!!
