Question by : What is the deal with all of the insurance quote questions in Yahoo! Local?
It seems like five or so accounts sprung up overnight. These accounts ask questions about car insurance in broken English, which mysteriously get answered at the last minute with links to other sites by accounts that were opened the same day. So, what is your theory–point-gaming, link-building, or other? And does it bug you that they’re in the wrong category, too?

Enjoy your 2 points everyone! Don’t worry, I’ll pick a real best answer. ;)

Spammers are everywhere. I have no idea what’s really in it for them. You see this sort of thing on all kinds of forums, not just YA! I’ve been trying to find a new job and see this all over Craigslist, for example. Just ignore ‘em.

Question by justcuriouslikegeorge: Has anyone ever gotten a free insurance quote over the Internet?
We went to those that advertise all the time and they first quoted us a real low price. But then when you actually speak to a person and they start asking you all kinds of stupid questions like do you own pets and things like that, their rates ended up being HIGHER.
