hi, I want to work from home and I was wondering if firms like http://www.academia-research.com/ and http://www.freelancewritingcenter.com/apply.htm are scams or are they for real. Also I am not sure if their payment mode is safe. I am not sure if paypal or wire transfer is good ( i have no clue how they work) i was hoping if they could post me a traditional cheque which i could deposit in my bank coz I dont thnk that online payment facilities like paypal and stuff would be avalable in my country.

PayPal and wire transfer are good, but YOU pay a fee for it.
A freelance writer, is just that, you write an article and sell it to someone.
You either work for a company as a staff writer, or you are freelance, so I would say be very careful, these companies are changing the meanings of words, and that usually means they are trying to trick you.
